Freewheeling at Saughton Park

Three smiling people wearing bike helmets give two thumbs up to the camera.

A group from Garvald Orwell Arts have been enjoying trying out the adaptive bikes along at Saughton Park on Thursday afternoons.

Thistle Outdoors, who run the drop-in sessions from 1-4pm each Thursday, have all sorts of bikes to fit different shapes and sizes. The Orwell group particularly love the trikes!

The group can’t recommend the sessions enough: the volunteers from Thistle Foundation are really helpful and supportive and the park is a fantastic, spacious location for cycling around.

Lots of the members from Orwell Arts are keen to keep cycling, and hope to continue freewheeling in the park right through the winter. See you out there!
