Our Funding Statement
How we source and steward our funding
Garvald Edinburgh is primarily funded through individual fees for each supported place. This is normally either funded directly through a Local Authority Partnership; Direct Payments; through self-funding, or a combination of these three approaches.
To Supplement the above income Garvald sells the produce and work made as a result of staff and members working together, and additional items through our shop.
The organisation also makes regular applications to grant-giving Trusts and Foundations and benefits from their support as well as donations from individuals.
Garvald also benefits from favourable rents for some of its premises and in the provision of some professional development for staff through support by the Garvald Trust. We aim to source materials locally and regularly use local fallen wood donated to us.
Collectively this helps us ensure members are able to work with quality materials and enables us to offer cost effective services.
