Garvald Artists at Edinburgh Art Fair 2024

For the third successive year Edinburgh Art Fair organisers invited Garvald Edinburgh to be their Charity Partners. The 3-day event brings together UK and international galleries and gives Garvald a fabulous platform to showcase the work of artists from the Garvald artists studios.

This year, Garvald Edinburgh presented work from 4 emerging artists. On show were Grant Abrahams’ joyful Robot series, Jordan Aitchison’s energetic reinterpretations of city-scapes, Steven Smith characterful birds, and Fiona Rintouls vibrant animals.

The artists attended the bustling Thursday evening preview, and over the course of the weekend to celebrate and experience their work beautifully framed and presented on the stand. Friday morning saw workshop groups from Orwell, Waterside and Gorgie visiting the fair, celebrating with their friends and taking in the art. Every artist sold work, with both Grant and Jordan meeting the buyers.

The artists films that share working processes are always a popular addition, professionally made by the Garvald Media Team based at Orwell Arts.

Taking part in EAF gives the artists the experience of exhibiting their work alongside established artists and galleries. It also enables us to engage with new audiences, advocate for the inclusion of learning disabled artists, and introduce many to the wider work we do at Garvald.
